Book Arts
Books are objects of time. They are meant to be held, flipped through, paused with, and returned to. My book arts practice focuses on how form and content speak through sequence, material, and structure. It’s about pacing, texture, and the quiet exchange between reader and page.

This section includes experimental publications, visual essays, and printed works that explore both narrative and visual rhythm. Some are precise and restrained. Others lean into repetition, abstraction, or instinct. Whether hand-bound, stitched, or folded, each book is treated as a physical space for thinking through ideas.

Dedar Himeidi,  13

Format: 4” x 5” Book
Country: U.S.A.
Genre: Book Arts
Year: 2024
13 is an exploration of the thoughts and experiences of a 13-year-old boy, drawn from Himeidi’s own childhood. Growing up in a world where his identity was often questioned, he recalls moments that shaped his sense of self, including being asked, “Are you a terrorist?” This question became the catalyst for the creation of the artwork, which captures the confusion, uncertainty, and resilience of youth in a complex world.
